Netizens on Instagram were quick to notice the cryptic post made by Magkaagaw actress Sheryl Cruz on her social media account on Sunday, July 19.
The 46-year-old actress, who plays the cunning Veron on the said series, vented out her frustration on the site about false accusations and fostering rumors.
According to the actress, “Character assassination is a deliberate and sustained effort to damage the reputation or credibility of an individual.
"The term could also be selectively applied to social groups and institutions.
“Agents of character assassinations employ a mix of open and covert methods to achieve their goals such as raising false accusations, planting and fostering rumors, and manipulating information.”
The post was accompanied by a video that contains a series of quotes about rumors, spreading hate, rudeness, and so much more.
The following day, she posted yet another compilation of quotes and even used a quote from Abraham Lincoln that said, “Truth is generally the best vindication against slander.”
In the comments section, fans were quick to defend the Magkaagaw star from bashers and naysayers by warning them to stop creating false claims.
One of them wrote, “Get your info right everyone. And also, dear bashers, there are always two sides to the story.
“Stop creating issues or fake news that won't help. You might cause something. Just mind your own business.
“Miss Sheryl has poise and is an educated woman. She is too smart and well-mannered to handle your negative thoughts.
“Miss Sheryl, you always got our backs. Know that we love you with all of our hearts.”
